On a bus transaxle, especially an 091, could someone tell me the bolt size used. I am not worried so mun about the length or thread could as much as the diameter of the bolt.

Re: Bell housing bolts
Thank you Steve. I think I goofed as my first post did not work and I had to rewrite the post. I mean the bolts that hold the bell housing onto the transaxle; this is for my engine stand build.

IIRC they're m8x1.25 studs/nuts on an 002.

OH, I thought you meant the engine to trans bolts (and studs).

Re: Bell housing bolts
Thanks Marc and Steve for the answers. I'm working on my engine run stand and rather than hashing I thought I would do it right the first time.
Steve, my origional post was more clear on it, we were dealing with an emergency at the time which is why my origional post did not work, I forgot to give it a title. Thanks for the answer as I have to get some nuts for that too.
I knew it had to be close as it is around 3/8s but 3/8s is a bit too big.

I have one on the floor right now, I'll check in the morning. PM me if I don't post by my noon (I'm three hours ahead) cause I forgot and I'll do it then.
I know some of those bolts are M8s with 12mm heads, I'lle let you konw what these turn out to be. you could probably replace them w/ socket heads if there are clearence issues. or grind!

give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

you suck at cracking the whip, I'll try and remember in the AM tomorrow when I pull out the buggy. I hid the motor in front of it.

Re: Bell housing bolts
I bought them today. Been very hectic the last couple days; my wife's daughter had incident 2 days ago and yesterday we found out for sure that it was a mini-stroke (TIA). It wasn't until later today we found out whether they were going to fix the hole in her heart, Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO); that may have been the reason for the strokes. They also found out this wasn't her first mini; there may have been a couple others based on the tests. She is here now and her hand, where the effect of the stroke was is actually getting better. It looks like they aren't going to fix the (really) high blood pressure but they want it to stay as it is felt that it is part of the body's dealing with the problem.
Got side tracked by that and the fun at the fastener store which is why I posted the URL in the fastener bit I posted http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic ... 8&t=141336. The kid who helped me did not understand my presentation of what I needed to him so after much confusion, I got the wrong lengths of bolts. Since I did not know what the thickness of the washers and nuts he was going to give me I gave him the grip which, in this case would have been the shank I wanted. Anyway, I kind of got what I wanted but I sure would like to get the head thickness of the fasteners you have.
I started marking things out tonight but between being too cold in the garage (fingers got numb at the tips) and the off-set of the bell housing I figured I was too tired to play with it so gave it up and went inside.

Thanks for the offer for the measurements.
