Not a serious problem, but curious. The 1679cc bug has a new engine, new pict3 carb, new distributor with electronic ignition, new fuel pump. Lately it's been in the low '50 for the morning drive to work. I hadn't noticed it before the weather began to change. Once it starts it has a very slow idle. I can see the red idiot light flickering. I don't let it warm up; Just get in and go. But by the time I get to the first stoplight the car is idling quite fast. Then for the rest of the day if I need to take a short drive anywhere the fast idle is still there.
Any theories or suggestions?
TIA,
kevin

Re: Idle question
Make sure that the choke is opening fully - it should only take around three minutes with the ignition on for the choke plate to be full-vertical. The idle stop screw (the one in the throttle arm that contacts the fast-idle cam) should only be barely contacting the cam - curb (AKA warm) idle speed is set with the bypass screw on the side of the carb.
