Are inexpensive VW high performance Cams as good as the rest

Post by theKbStockpiler »

I heard when Crane was still in business that they guaranteed their cams for a million miles to try to lure buyers back. Comp will not get any of my money for a cam again. One went after 20,000 miles of easy driving. Are Engle and the like the same? Should I go for a expensive one or is it a waste of money?

Thanks in advance!

Webcams are nitrided.
Do a bit of research to see why and if it's worth the extra $ it costs to you.

...you tend to get what you pay for.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I've had 2 Engle cams flatten on me within the first 6,000 miles.

Supa, what lifters did the engles fail with, and what combo did you use to correct it?
