Gas Gauge Sticks - Help Please!
I have a ‘73 Beetle.
I filled the tank and the gas gauge only went up to about ¾. I gently tapped on the speedo and the gauge went up to about full.
Is this caused by the vibrator/CVR being defective?
Which one of these should I buy?
Which is the best quality?
Are they all made in China?

Mine does the same thing in the Baja, I just fill it when it hits a 1/4 tank

Spiders in the gauge are not friendly..... Might be able to remove the gauge you have and carefully clean it. No Compressed air blowing! I use Mobile 1 to lube any mechanical contact points on gauges of all kinds.... does a good job. Just don't get too carried away.
I have found them completely missing more than once. - PILEDRIVER
