Looks like your doing it right! Looking forward to the build.
FWIW, judging by what others have experienced (or what I've read), I think you might need a little more clutch than a STGI p/p.

thanks vdub.i am going to do the best i can becouse this will be the last vw engine i build!i have come to the conclusion that these little engines require to much attention and i am getting to old for this!also they are getting way to expensive.i just want to drive it! Funny story my son just turned 16 and he wants my truck but my wife said maybe we should buy him something older to learn how to drive.so im buying him subaru :-)i think you know where im going with this!but anyways i have been watching your build and it is coming out great.

Thanks.. I'm anxious to get mine on the road.
Your right though, VW stuff isn't nearly as inexpensive as it used to be. To build something like this from the ground up and do it right, your going to spend some money.
Keep us posted on the build. We like lots of pictures

Looking good Bill! I can guarantee tht you will have an ear-to-ear grin when you run this setup. My 2276 FI turbo flat out screams and runs circles on just about everything on the road.
One thing I would do different on your build and only offer this a a suggestion from previous experience is to ditch the 30mm pump and run a 26mm. The XR296 cam is great - ran it for a year or so before moving up to the XR302.
Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming.

Thanks 56speedster!i hope it turns out ok. I was originally going to use a 26 millimeter pump, but because of all the upgrades to the case and bearings I am unsure.what do you guys think?the case has passage drilled to the1/2 side, bronze bushings have slots cut in them for full time oil to the lifters, the bearings will all have grooves 360°for full time oiling, the cb rockers will be modded for oil, also becouse of my kafer brace my oil cooler will be alittle further than I would like! Do you think a 26mm pump is enough! Thanks again!

I've never had a stage 1 to compare against but have not had a problem with my stage 2 holding. I think the 26mm pump would be fine but since you've already got the 30, you might as well run it. Are you planning on a deep sump as well?

I really appreciate all the help I get from you guys!I hope someday I can repay the favor!again thanks!!!going to check with machine shop about balancing a stg 2 tomorrow.

A 26mm would probably work just fine, but so will a 30mm. You have a lot of oiling mods, so it probably wouldn't hurt to run the 30mm. Just watch your pressures and make sure to keep them in check. If they are super high, drop your vis down to get them down.
FWIW, I'm going to be running a STG II p/p on mine. I chose it after reading what folks here were using, and most said the same things. STG I was ok at lower boost, but once you really start putting some power down, they give up unless you have a dual disk setup ($$$).

The Kennedy Pressure Plates are balanced from the factory. I am almost positive there was a note in my new Stage 1 box that said to not send it with a crank to be balanced since it was already done.
They said it weakens it if you drill holes in it.

My balancer said my "balanced" Kennedy p/p was the worst of all of my parts. If you can get it balanced, I would.
