Chassis improvements

Not on any of the cars around here (Chris is taking care of that stuff these days) - your moderator had a total hip replacement on one side this morning. Still taking some fairly serious pain meds, and they're working well :)
Looking forward to being able to walk normally again by next month...Doc say it'll be a little longer before I can get in & out of my Bug without risking dislocating the bionic joint though.

Wow, I hear that's not a fun day at the doctor office. Glad to hear you have drugs to legally enjoy for a few weeks. Do you make that bionic noise when you walk now?

Hope you have a fast recovery.

An HR, dude, you’re not that old. I am getting close as the meds I am taking to lube the joints and quell the pain of the hip is not working as well is it did. ‘Best friend just had knee surgery and so far it is working. Take care, we miss your presence.

I had lower back surgery a few years ago. The pain of the surgery, the anesthesia side effects and the pain meds made it impossible for me to have a BM for 4 days. I thought I was going to die. Then my wife called a blue cross hotline and the nurse said to put a heating pad on my stomach. That woke up my intestines and I was ok. Maybe that info can help you handle your recovery just a little bit.

I put a new brake rotor on the project car and your `77 tonight ;) I was going to put the heated/air conditioned power leather Recaros in w/pump up lumbar and adjustable thigh support - tell them to give you a break and you'll let them play a video game in the tv monitors ;)

He's been enduring some serious pain for the past five years or so in particular...this'll be the third joint replacement, and he needs three more. Hopefully he'll be fixed up and feeling like a kid again right as he retires :)

Hopefully they don't replace his knoggin'. With the weather we have been having lately (damp/high humidity and chilly) that has to take it toll also.

Best wished Marc!

Thanks everyone. So far things are looking great, I'm just taking Oxycontin twice a day and Tylenol every 6 hours - have forgone the as-needed optional Vicodin so far. Last time I did this I milked the morphine pump dry and took all the Vicodin I could charm out of the nurses and it still hurt more than now. And as a welcome bonus the meds are relieving my shoulder pain significantly, I slept better last night than I have in months even with the nurses coming in to check my blood pressure & temp every 2 hours.
Chris, the doctor says he doesn't want me getting in & out of a Bug for ~4 weeks for fear of dislocating the hip - NOW I could use RHD again, but it's not worth the effort for that short a time. You can plan on having full access to the `77 for a month, if I have to go someplace before then I can use the truck.

Wow, no one told me you were going on vacation! I'm taking a serious look at just how much your being paid here.

Glad to hear the surgery was a success. Had a good friend have a hip replacement 2 years ago and he was "a new man" after a few months of recovery and a little rehab. Now says he wished he hadn't waited so long. Betcha yours works out the same.

Keep us posted and hurry back to work.

So have you left the bugs alone or did you cheat already?

Can't put more than ~75 lbs on the new hip for several weeks, so I'm pretty much bedridden for now.
