I've had my 65 for roughly 10 years, it was a driver with a 2332 until I got rear ended about 8 years ago. Anyway its a PA beetle and I haven't really gotten into the Texas pricing of aircooled cars. I know in PA my car w/ a running 1600 might be worth 4-5K. I'll break down what it needs and hopefully its enough information to help me price it right for the TX market. I've been out of the A/C scene for a little too long and pricing has drastically changed since I last was paying attention.
Good:
65 shell, pans replaced and POR-15d in 2003
NO rust around windows or actual shell, no bubbles (paint has held up great)
Should have a running 1600 w/ new P&C in it when I get ready to sell it (2 weeks maybe)
Good OEM front lights, and rear tails
CB front discs
Adjustable front beam
5x112 bolt pattern all around with audi A4 wheels
Period incorrect front seats
KYB shocks all around
No idea about the transmission alll I know is it took everything I gave it when I had my 2332 w/ 110 cam & dual44s
Bad
3/4 fenders need a little work front turns frenched and painted
from the rear ending the inner rear parcel/seat area has a small panel miss alignment.
Drivers side heater channel needs either a patch or full replacement depending on the buyers intent.
needs new rear apron
Needs new rear bumper has front slim cal-look front
Deck lid had a small dent, probably needs a new one
I hope this give you guys a rough idea about what I'm dealing with. My goal is to have it running and suitable as a driver project for someone. Thoughts on a decent price point
I'm only selling it because I have a running, registered, RUST FREE 65 sedan w/ pop outs, a DP 1600 w/ 110 cam, delt 40, discs all around for 2500 being sold to me.
Thanks!
