Karen-Starshine got some new seats ...

Post by KarenTheBug »

Long time no post ...

The previous owner of my Bug did one hell of a Cal Look / hotrod job on her before my purchase, and I've spent the last year and three months trying to "rescue" her, as I call it. She had a knock-off Hurst shifter and Porsche steering wheel (both long gone), but the Porsche 911 seats were the one thing I had trouble finding replacements for.

One of my two mechanics hooked me up with a pair of original seats recently, and my other mechanic & his fiancee redid the upholstery / paint / rebuild / rust treatment where needed on the frames.

Admittedly, the list of things I can do on this car - and have them turn out looking good & running well - is shorter than the list of things I CAN'T do, and this is something I wanted done right. This car is too nice to dick up. They just got put in tonight.

HELL YEAH, this is what a Bug is supposed to look and FEEL like, Son!

Sorry the pictures aren't too good, I'll try to get better ones. Oh, and the yellow New Beetle in some of the shots is my daily driver. Don't hate me :-) it's actually a hoot to drive ... 2000 New Beetle GLS 2.0l AEG 5 speed with a newly installed Cherrybomb catalytic converter ... sounds like a swarm of cicadas rolling down the road.
