Hi people,
I recently had rear shoes and hoses (new springs in kit as well) installed due to left rear brakes not returning (broken spring as it turned out) and was heating up a bit. When I got the car back after this work, it seemed to stop fine. after a few days, however, the brake pedal started to return very slowly, (hydraulically or so it seemed..almost like a cassette tape deck door). This causes the brakes to stick for about five seconds or so when you let off of the pedal. When the mechanic looked at it again, he readjusted the rear brakes and bled the system, but the problem remained. He changed the master cylinder and bled the system again, but the problem is still there. He is stumped. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks for your help guys!
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.
the rear wheel cylinders were replaced as well, sorry for not mentioning. bad proportional valve? could this be in the brake booster? thanks for your thoughts.
Easy to test, take the booster line off at the engine, plug the vac fitting on the manifold and drive it, the brakes will work, just remember you will have to really push the pedal. If the pedal returns okay then you have your answer.
