wasser fitment into 71 bay

I have a 71 bay with a 6 rib trans.
Need to figure out what is needed to get the 2.1 physically bolted up to the trans/starter and mustache bar.

I have a access to a variety of type 4 flywheels and the 2.1 flywheel.
Thought about using a type 4 200mm becuase its lighter than the vanagon? From what i have read here i can use a bug pressure plate, disc and TO bearing with this? Would that work?
Would my bus starter engage this flywheel?

It seems a vanagon mustache bar is similar to or the same as a type 4 bar meaning i could make it work in my bus like the type 4 bays had theirs?

I really want this to work so any advice would be great.
Thanks

goody
the 2.0l Engine that was mated to the 091 tranny had 228m Flywheel
as the WBx has also
The starter also works straight on

only some cutting and fitting of the rearmounting bar.

..and som piping to the radiator

well thats cool. do ya know if the 200 mm type flywheel can use the type 1 clutch componants? If so that seems like it would leave room for many god clutch combos.
it seems that might be easier as i have a bunch of type 1 parts and that 200 flywheel. plus i dont know if that 228 would work with the starter thats turning my 1600 right now that has a 200mm flywheel.
would the 200 mm be lighter than the 228?

tunacan.net/t4 appears to be down, but when it comes back up it has a lot of definate answers. I do belive you are right, the 200 and 210 will take bug stuff, tob is the same on all, And i'm pretty sure the starter will work fine too, sure enough toreccomend the mod, not sure enough to fly out and help if i am wrong. s

Well the good news is that the type1 engine carrier bar bolt directly to the waterboxer :D :D that is very exciting.

Last weekend i cut out the vanagon engine access panel and welded it into the 71 bay. It is great!!!! there is just a ton of engine access now from the back or top.
Pics to come!
