rear hub splines?

do you know if the rear hub splines are the same as a 68 beetle?

No. They are not even of the same layout. On a beetle, the hubs are cast with splines cast/machined in. On a 411/412, you have a forged stub that bolts to the drum. That Stub has a set of splines on the inboard end that then made to a female splined hub that bolts to the CV joint.
There are no other VW's that use either this set-up of the rear bearings...although the type 3 uses the same cast hub. Ray

i was just wondering as i have a set of porsche disk brakes of a rear of a 944 turbo witch just bolts on to a swing axle or irs bug. and wonderd if they would fit the 412 if the splines was the same

(i know the set up is different to the bug :wink:)

A lot of the disc brake kits that fit type 3's can be bolted up with mods...depending upon how the calipers mount. Ray
