WHere do you connect your Stereo wires????

Post by vwbill »

Hey where do you install the Red Battery Hot always , Yellow Ignition On Power, White Dimmer, Black Ground, ? bill

Doing stereo and leaving the old head unit and added one under the vent controls changed the doors speakers and added tweeters at the side vent and the dash corner with wire running that edge after unscrewing the dash there. Added a re cargo board that started at carpet and ended with patterned light brown recliner grids fabric with two Sony 4way 4x6 180watts it was the second attempt after a hammer toke out the edge of board one hitting staples!

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Check your operating instructions carefully to see if there is a way to turn unit off if both the yellow and red wires have power to them all the time. On my Sony I have to push and hold the off button for 5 seconds to turn the unit off. Other brands have different but often similar procedures.

Thanks guys for the replys! Albert I guess running at least one wire of my new radio head unit to the actual radio fuse of the fuse box would be better but I ran it to the cigarette lighter Hot and Ground both there; That makes me wonder since I blew the cigarette lighter fuse remounting the wires once and I thought it was fuse 10 but "9" is labeled Cigarette, heater(switch current) and I don't have the front blower working? Have to check on that one! I put the White to dimmer, Ign. switch on Hot wire to fuse 10, Wipers fuse spot. Thanks Bil
P.s. I didn't think about doing VW hot radio style with a "Off" function of the Radio Head Unit!!!

Thanks for the pic!

Thanks Albert! The pics show me that the fan is big and set way back in the body dash top fire wall!! Looks like I would have to remove the radio again to get that disassembled which means That I should have just did that first!
I hope it is just wiring missing or connected wrong not a bad fan! Wonder if it has a relay or not or just out of fan to switch and power to switch?....

Here is one of the dash look...

,,bill,, you have 3 wire on the motor ,,, one low spead one hi spead and the ground,, and on the slider swith you have 2 cupper contact ,, plus one ground,, if you mix the 2 color wire from the motor that is not very important ,, in the normal thing you start bi the low spead and hi spead afther ,, but if this 2 wire are mix , you start bi the hy spead ,, just reeverse this 2 wires,, albert
