Re: Cooling the Engine
And making sure the fan belt tension is set correctly- to loose it will run hot, to tight the belt will slip at higher RPMs, and make it run hot. To adjust the belt tension, the pulley nut is removed and shims are added to or subtracted from the space between the pulley halves. Adding shims decreases belt tension, and subtracting shims increases belt tension. There should be about 1/2" of tension in the belt.MNAirHead wrote:rsb wrote:Anyone run across, or participated in some really informative dicussions of cooling? For example:
3.1 Cooling.
3.1.1Cooling tin.
3.1.2 fan.
3.1.3 thermostat.
3.1.4 warning light on.
Did I miss anything?
