how about a welding and fab forum?

Post by allsierra123 »

Just wondering if maybe we could get something like this going.Seems it is something that is used across the board by streeters and OR guys alike. So why not have an area designated for it?If we already have something like this let me know because I have overlooked it.

Yeah, I figured you'd say that. I agree. One of the reasons may be that Bodywork and Paint doesn't have a moderator. I'm trying to resolve that now. A leader there might really help get the content going.

I'll take this suggestion to heart for sure , as I am also interested in the subject. I am trying to learn how to weld. I'll see if we can make an improvement in this area.

Thanks,

It's been suggested to expand the Tools/Tricks/Techniques/Shop Theory Forum to specifically include welding and fabrication. We'd probably change the title and description a little and start promoting this "universal" forum as the correct place for these topics. Does this seem reasonable to you guys?

That's a good idea.
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Good plan. Seems like anything you do to a high performance VW involves welding and tubing.

It would be cool to have a place where tips, tricks and killer welding ideas could go. Never knew the metal had to be clean, I thought crank that baby up and lay a bead would be good enough. I have a lot to learn.

looks like we have a good bit of interest in this topic. And looks like we could turn the shop forum into something along these lines.Maybe we could get a moderator to kind of mold into what we are looking for.or atleast keep the content along those lines.
