This is SPAM

I don't think anyone should be posting anything on the STF for sale with a link to the samba or ebay. I feel that if you want to sell something on the STF you should use the classifieds properly and place an ad, not a link. This is in no way helping the STF grow.
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Agreed does not take to much time to post a proper classified, might even sell faster because some people like to see what it is not just a link to some other place.

I think your dead wrong.

When I cross post a ad I place it on the Samba because it has a superior classified section. It's easy to post pictures and easy to maintain your ads. I then cross post the ad in other forums with some simple info, a picture and a like with to the Samba ad with all the contact info.

That way if I make a change or lower the price, I don't have to go around to 10 different sites and make changes.

You want you want, but stuff put in the Samba classified sells pain and simple.

And if you disallow links people simply won't bother posting ads here. And who does that hurt?

The seller, that's who.

Glenn it takes just as many steps to load a picture here as thesamba. you have to upload it to thesamba then link it to the advertisement. here you upload it to photobucket or whatever you use then upload it into your advertisement.

This is not my beef and probably going to get smacked down for it anyway but thesamba is a great place but it's classifieds did not start out as big as it is now, they had to start somewhere and build up. Will thesamba let you just post a link to another site? Why not? Maybe cause nobody is going to look at it? It is not going to hurt somebody to post the same info twice, I have done it and came through it ok. If somebody is doing it as a business and has a lot of stuff, then at this point in time they shouldn't advertise here anyway. People see things different and that is a good thing otherwise we would all be driving the same thing and that is no fun.

I don't think an ad you would post is what I am talking about. I am talking about the ads that don't say anything just a link.
Example:
For sale type 1
www.clickhere.com

If you have an ad with a description of where, what, and how much. That is fine with a link. The example above is what I don't think helps the STF.

Glenns right - Samba is a much better venue for posting your ad. They have a section just for it. This is just a bunch of forums with some designated for posting ads. You can upload your pictures there and they will host it for you. One stop shopping - no need to spend extra time screwing with things.

Samba DOES let you post ads other sites, namely eBay, because THEY too know that there are better venues for certain types of ads. Limiting people's advertisements to this site or making them duplicate ads would just be another example of the limited nature of this site.

Guys you are right thesamba is bigger and better for placing an advertisement. Does that mean it is the only way, you have to do it that way or you cannot sell an item. I just think it is better for the site if the info is here If I wanted to look at thesamba I would go over there, I can do that and it will not hurt me to do so. All I am saying is it going to kill a person to post the information on what they want to sell vice a link. I can get the same thing from the Old guy who is selling pain pills or click on this link to see Britney.

No it's not going to kill anyone to do that, but it's not going to make or break this site whether ads are placed here or elsewhere either. Other things are working that will make (or likely break) this site. The crossposting has its place, as Glenn suggested he does. It alerts folks that are here to the ad that was placed elsewhere. With a better venue for posting ads, why be substandard about what you want to do and have to create a new ad somewhere else that is not really set up to do it as effectively?

I don't see how to copy and paste can be so hard. Click click click click and your done.

Posting a link is just as easy, and the ad options are just superior over there, as well as at ebay. There is a reason why that site's classifieds section is so big. It ain't Flintstones.

Yeah, well you go to Walmart to save your money and I will go to the old time store where I am not standing in line to save 2 cents on a pack of gum. Your for the big guy. I am for the little guy. I am all for the STF and that's my story and I'm stickin to it.

would you rather miss out on a possible part you need/want because the seller didn't want to live up to your desires and place two adds? a link to the advertisement is plenty sufficient....then if the add updates, such as a lower price, the link is still valid..... it is a very efficient way of doing "business"...no one forces you to click on a link you don't want to see....
