Voltmeter

Can a voltmeter be connected thru the same line that goes to the light in the speedo. If so How?
I have looked and seen it somewhere but can not find it.

No, that wire changes polarity when the charging system starts charging.

just grd one side of your voltmeter and hook the other side of it to something in the fuse box that goes hot when the key is turned on

your voltmeter should have some kind of indication of what is positive and what is negative
