....oil to a valve cover via the Holley pump which is proven by the Brits-Marco and Matt K or the other proven way by running it to a sump. With the pump way I assume you have to run it for 20 seconds after every shutdown.
Can you guys tell me pros and cons of each? I'm re-doing my motor so don't refer to my existing pics. Right know it gravity feeds but I'm going for the belowthe apron/tin style turbo. This in turn should keep some of the hot air out of the motor compartment. What do you guys think?

The only thing i can think of, is if you return back to the 1-2 valve cover area, you will not have any restriction or back pressure from existing pool of oil. dont know if that would help the life of the pump or not.
curious, how much temperature does the oil pick up from the turbo?
Although it would be very miniscual, oil draining back down the tubes may loose some temperature.
but also with that said, maybe you are putting hot oil in the head area. i think you loose either way.
?????????????????????????????????????
shoot, pump it through a cooler and make your life more complicated before it returns to the motor.

Hi, I'm a bit of a turbo virgin, building my first so also scrounging ideas, the amount of oil returning from the turbo is not vast quantities, yes/no? It will probably be very airated/frothy yes/no? if you are pumping/scavenging the oil from the turbo drain what sort of elevation could you get away with, would it not be possible to take it up slightly to an oil separator this will (as well as doing what it was designed for) allow the oil to cool slightly making for a safer return to the rocker covers or even back to the case above the oil level, say a fuel pump blanking plate.
Sorry if I'm way of the mark, if I am could you explain why, thanks.
Dodge.

dude I wouldn't drain it into the sump, it needs a unrestricted area to drain into (remember that Tom Petty song "Freefalling :0 sorry"), so if the sump has oil in it then it would always be backing up the drain hose. I would go the valve cover route before I would sump it.
