The leak thing was a joke. I had plexiglass at one time but it scratches easy and the thought of hitting something and shards of plastic coming through made me do it with DOT glass. My windshield was probably on the high end at $98 including gasket. Also put some rain ex on it also, it helps.TxFordGuy wrote:leaks, this is not on a bug, this is on a rail. its wide open. i'm just wondering about mounting. also, have any of you passed an inspection with just plexy glass. how mounting mount DOT Glass to a rail??

I first time I took it out in the dunes did some jumping bone jarring (for me) whoops and windshield held in great Second time took it out and wore goggles, sand and glass do not mix.
But back to your question. The screws go through the rubber gasket into the tubing, there is enought seperation between glass and metal so it does not touch, would only take once. Getting the template right before making the windshield is a must.
How are you mounting your windshield wiper or wipers?

In most locales, hand crank wipers are acceptable.Leatherneck wrote:I first time I took it out in the dunes did some jumping bone jarring (for me) whoops and windshield held in great Second time took it out and wore goggles, sand and glass do not mix.
