There was a set offered for 500€ over here the other day:

Ray, I PMed this to you, but obviously you never got it.
Don't know how I messed that up, but the message never left my "Out box" and entered my "Sent box".

The 9J's in that set would however pose a real challange of getting it in the fenders of a type 4, also because of the low-ET value of those
Nice looking set tho.

They pop up over here (Netherlands) from time to time also. I'll keep en eye open if your that keen on them.
500 euro is quite steep IMHO, but probably has to do with the huge width of those; 300 would be more market price and 5,5J en to some extend 7J are the most common sold sizes

Thanks for pointing that out Wally! I had not noticed that they were 9j's. I was just doing Euro to $ conversion and.....
....$638!!! And that is without shipping.
Of course, there are wheels that are common in the aftermarket like the Riviera and the 8 spoke EMPI...that tend to run $99-110 each. Thats not a bad average price.....but....I have also found that those wheels I just mentioned are actually quite soft in their cast material. They are much like the original wheels VW put on my 90 model cabriolet.
I went through 2 complete sets...and they bend and get warped just by looking at them sideways. I then put on a set of original GTI alloys.....20+ years old no less...and they are straight and true and much tougher.
I would pay more....for a wheel that is quality. Of course forged is best....but finding a forged wheel of the correct size and usable styling for a 412.....could be quite a bit more unless the junk yard has what you need. I will have to see what a properly sized version of thsoe wheels might be.
