Hi all, as you can see I want to put a type 3 auto into my manx, I sure somebody has done this (I know of three here in OZ). I already have some ideas floating around in my head but would like to see how others have approached the problem. In particular I'm looking at the mounting of the gearbox/engine assembly. I've been thinking about barwork spaced wider to accommodate the auto pan underneath and more over the top to create a frame to support everything. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. This is a project NOT for the faint of heart. I am in the process of doing this as well.
I have the same idea as you do. Supporting the engine/trans from underneath with a cage above for more support. I am only about 1/3 done with mine however. I've clearenced the framehorns and reshaped them. They act more as guides now then real support. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have the mini cage done and have more pictures for you.

Most of my most recent updates are here in a saved page as I lost the "blogging" feature at Volksrods...

Also, I am picking up a Buggy to play with tonight as well so my updates might stretch out a bit.
