Jake, i hope you don't mind me asking, but where did you get that TDC tool in HotVW's part three build-up?

Probably Snap-ON, they are STD equipment in garages.

You can make your own, by gutting a spark plug and jamming a brass
rod into the innards.

dstar, thats what i have right now. The ones i've seen for sale are not that long. Looks like it would work well with the DTM shroud installed on motor due to the extra length. After twenty years i think i will treat my self to a new one.

I hate to say this, but it looks like it would work with OHC water coolers that have the plugs deep in the middle of the head too.

I've had to help some people out with their poor water pumpers when they break a timing belt, and need to find TDC on #1. Then tell them they may have some bent valves, and damaged pistons :lol: .
