Motorbreath53's Baja... is still ALIVE

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Looking good. Now take switches off roof and put in dash. I also would have located fuel filler lower down. Those jugs get heavy when holding them that high.

I think I told Motorbreath that back when he installed it in the original blue body shell.

JT has done quite nice work finishing someone else's project.

Couple of pic from first trip out with the car. Have a couple of bugs to work out minor cooling issue and need to stiffen rear suspension a little. Down fall was we were chasing motorbreath down the wash around 65 mph I looked down checking water temp and looked up just it time to plow into a mound of dirt and most likely a rock with a bush on top broke driver side shock tower and bent the 1 1/4" steering arm right in the middle lol at least no one got hurt accept my pride.
Over all car ran great super happy with the build. we have some video i will get it posted tomorrow

That is a nice looking car, dimple dies and all.

We need to change the title of this thread. Congrats JT.

Awesome, I was planning on it, ended up working all through the weekend. I see Danny had to rough it again with the sleeping quarters

 By the Devine Authority of "mlrailguy" TAKE DOWN THOSE SWITCHES...

I like the switches up top. It makes the dash less cluttered.

As for the fuel fill... I've got scrawny little bird arms (per my "friends" at work) and I never had issue tipping 6gallons of fuel. Besides, it's pure gold as far as looking race-car goes...

I agree the switches stay where there at I put them up there because I don't like cluttered dashes if you like the switches on the dash im happy for you I like them up top out of my way and that's what matters. As far as the fuel fill it stays where it is if you cant hold up 6 gallons of fuel for 15-20 seconds then im sorry work out some more, but to me if im lifting to a through the quarter panel window where everyone seems to put them why not have it another foot or so higher? 6 gallons of gas the same weight regardless if your lifting it 3 feet or 4 feet
