Yes, I can confirm one part coming straight from the 100LS to the 412: the black plastic front door baskets introduced in 1973.

Albert...what technical book do you have?
The interesting problem...is that if a part remains in a VW...and is used from model to model...it keeps its same 9 digit #.
Like a part that is a 311 prefix appearing in a type 4.
But...this did not happen with early audi and Porsche. You could find an exact part that originally was used in a VW...but later appeared in an Audi with a totally new part number. These are the things I want to know about.
For USA consumption...its really the early 80's audies than can help us. Anything before about 1980....is even harder to find examples of than type 4's here on this continent. Ray

Torlon bushings with oiling grooves installed in modified countercluster. Front face (shown) of countercluster rotates CW so ID groove is on trailing end of end bevel. Other end of same bushing is opposite orientation for groove 180 degree opposed (not shown).
This is the NOS unit. The unit from the parts car was also modified for a spare

Man that looks sweet!
I am still working on a simple method of getting more gear oil flowing through both the counter cluster gear and the differential bearings. But I do know that just the grooving really helped even with the factory needle bearings.
One thing that can really help....but has an issue...is just being able to get about 1 pint more oil into the transmission.
If you can get the oil levels to stay high...without being excessivly high and causing drag....it keeps the counter cluster submerged much better and helps keep oil going into the bearings through the oiling grooves and center oiling hole.
The problem with having extra oil is the vent hole near the rear bearing on the tail cone. It vents from there.
I will be also trying a small funnel type oil vent enclosure/extender at this location...kind of like an oil separtor box. This way, anything that vents...drains back in. As long as the at rest oil level is below the mainshaft entrance you will have no leakage. But just an extra pint of oil really goes a long way toward better operating. Ray
