Based on what I think I am seeing I would suspect that the cam and maybe the crank and maybe at least one rod are also going to be dam(n)aged. Not sure on the block but that looks like a nasty potential lockup for sure.
Been a long time since I have seen that kind of damage... whoof!

So I have a runner again!! And I think I get to claim the prize for most expensive cam swap!
Ended up with a 1585 still a C25 cam and stock valves and valve train.
Though she runs and that’s what matters for the time being.
Have developed a problem and I’m looking for insight, I can build boost in 1st and 2nd though in 2nd it’ll make 5psi at 3/4 throttle but if I bury it boost drops to 1-2psi.
If I put it on high boost (21 psi) it’ll only build about 12 psi. I had some shaft play so I’m assuming the turbo is dying but I have never felt one go.
Well the Baja found its way back to me the start of this year. I got it back and dropped the 1585 out and swapped in my 2276 that I had.
Still working through tuning this set up and getting things dialed in.
2276 has a TCS-20 cam and runs in E85.
Glad to have the car back excited to get some passes on the car and have an eye on Drag and Drive events hopefully in 2025 but reality is more likley 2026.
Also looking at engine options and may start a new thread on that build still a turbo set up.
