Hi Cefolar,

We run Daytona with Chump on the weekend 25-26 May. If you'd like to visit with us, or even crew, you are invited.

We'll be running our 1973 Super Bug, the Blitzwagen. It looks like one of the Mad Max style cars in LeMons and Chump, but in Chump there are many very clean-looking racers. I do not know how they got in past the $500 car barrier.

I believe you would qualify, as is, for Chump. They tend to dismiss VW's as noncompetitive, even though one of the Super's from south Florida pulled off a 6th overall on them at West Palm Beach last season.

My point is Chump is much more flexible for entries than the rules read. Come crew with us and you'll see.

If I could find time to finish it, I would be there. Will probably be there for the Mitty, but unfortunately not with this car - potentially our Corvette.

Quality work going on here, but one thing i see about the rear caliper mounting position, its not the best idea to mount them on the flex axis of the hub/bearing/ shaft etc, especially for racing use, pad knock back is more pronounced in that plane, 9 o/c - 3 o/c area is usually for preference with that in mind my friend. best regards, Johnny.

Thats awesome Ron - - I bought some new property so I have been tied up trying to get that into shape. The Ghia has gathered dust for the last couple of months but we'll get back at it soon. I will be at the fall Road Atlanta race (with our Corvette) so look for us.

Ouch that stinks.
