Yes there will be a mount of some sort for the rear bumper bars coming from the bottom. I'm still deciding on what im going to do.

Very cool car. I must be misinformed, so I have a few questions regarding the rules of "Class 11".
1. To what extent can the car be fully caged? I thought that the cage was limited to passenger protection only, and that tying in the suspension was not allowed.
2. I see long shocks here, especially on the rear. I thought that the stock mounting locations were required.

Rulebooks are interesting, as well as the interpretations. I believe that "terminal points" of the roll cage can be anywhere.
The shock mount questions I found interesting, too. I looked it up a while back, and, instead of restricting the shock travel, they restrict the shock mounting points. If you look, the shock is mounted by a clamp in the middle of the shock, not at the end, so it meets those requirements.
Which leads me to another question... What are you using for a shock clamp? How bout a detailed picture? I'm thinking that if it works for class 11, then it could work in situations where there is an existing cage isn't the right length for longer travel shocks.

Not so much as a shock clamp but a special shock that is built for class 11 installation. The shock is still the same stroke just longer for more oil and better cooling.
I Think

it is two + years old, but here is a good read about the "clamped" class 11 shock!
http://www.class11coalition.com/503-sus ... or-11-cars
also i thought class 11 went away with stock mounting points in the rear! like you could mount shock on top of arm now and to a cage within some limits?

Nowadays the rule limits total length of the shock, not mounting points.
Thanks for the link.

Actually the rules limit the mounting locations not the shock length. Nomore than i think 17" eye to eye. A few manf. make a shock just for this application. We run the fox shock. Also some people use bump can mounts to secure the shock, some manuf. like fox make the mount part of the shock.

It's okay, you can say "Stop speaking out of your ass, Dude"

I even consulted the rule book before making that statement, but I misinterpreted... "Rear shock must not have an extended length longer than 18”, center of mounting hole to center of mounting hole."
Very interesting about the special shocks. Interesting, too, about the bump stop mounting. Thanks.

First off sorry Fixxor for the thread hi-jack!!
sorry I can't find a updated class 11 rule book!
So stock rear shock mount locations have been done away with, it looks by pic that the shock would be mounted to top of trailing arm./? and a shock no longer that 18" at the center of mounting eyes, What kind of travel is your car and others putting out in that configuration???
are class 11 limited to what cvs can be used and is that the limiting factor for travel at this point?, and if the shock is mounted to top of trailing arm (and I am guessing, at back over the bearing housing part) where does the bumb stop end up being? Thanks

Rear shocks may be mounted on top of the trailing arm. Any VW CV joint may be used so Type 2 or 4 is legal. Type 181 stub axles are legal. I think that rear travel should be around 12 inches......

That is turning out real nice! Would be cool if it was still street legal.
