Re: 2276 Fuel Injection Conversion & My introduction
I am set to sequential injection, with no cam sensor. The Redline measures crankshaft acceleration rate during start up and determines which phase the engine on. They do recommend a cam sensor when running sequential direct fire ignition. I am running wasted spark now. I have tested direct fire ignition and it worked 10 out of 10 times perfectly, but since I'm NA I don't really need the extra available dwell.

Re: 2276 Fuel Injection Conversion & My introduction
I pulled that one off of an early 2000's Chevy s10. I think it's something like 2000-2003 s10 with the 2.2L engine. I want to say it was 55mm? Mario has right now so I cant run out and remeasure it. Maybe he will chime in
Had a buddy want one like it so I went back out to the local pick and pull to get another and couldn't find one on an s10. So I started looking at some of the gm cars of the same era. Found one, so I'm sure they are in a lot of gm vehicles of the time. Plus they were like $25 bucks

Re: 2276 Fuel Injection Conversion & My introduction
Finally a couple of updates......
First for the turbo drain debate I ordered one of the cb fittings to check out. I did drill out the fitting some to open it up a bit.

It looked nice and I couldn't imagine it really impeding oil flow so I'm running it. This is what I ended up with for my drain.

Then I received my parts from Mario at The Dub Shop. MS3 with expansion board, Complete wiring harness, crank trigger kit. Mario even included a few pieces to help connect all the options I was wanting to run. A keyed switch for switching dual tables. A push button for datalog activation. A 2-color LED and micro switch for my clutch pedal. LED for datalog and 3 step/launch control verification. And the best thing was a BFH (Big F'in Harness) to run from front to back. This came in extremely handy for connecting cht/egt/wideband/2 step/3 step to MS. Plus there is still plenty of room for additional items down the road when I want to expand
It's all the little touches from a Company that make all the difference in my opinion.

Started mounting everything up

And made a template for my engine tin

I'll try and add some more later today as it is running

Looking good. And that MS3 harness and add-ons sounds excellent.

I like the drain over the pipe. I might re-configure this winter and have a look to see if i can do the same.

Re: 2276 Fuel Injection Conversion & My introduction
I know, I'm lame at updating. I really admire the guys that have incredibly detailed build threads. Here is proof that it does run (click for video). This was when I first started it so not much tuning. It's much snappier now

Also installed my gauge from sensor connection to monitor and datalog CHT and EGT

I've driven it around quite a bit its awesome! All my hesitations and sputters from the 4 barrel are gone! Its also not a lazy dog down low anymore! It drives smooth like a N/A car then boost/vacuum gauge goes up to zero, my butt puckers a little and into boost and we're gone! I couldn't be happier.
When I first started driving it with the new setup it was on 91 octane pump gas and no water injection coming on yet. I couldn't get it tuned well enough to even build 8psi without detonation. I was way discouraged and took a couple days off to ponder. Drove it again with a little tweaking and quite a bit less timing. Still detonating. Grrrr, I'm not gonna let it win! So I drained the tank and poured in some e85. Upped the VE table 30% and went for a drive. Within an hour of driving and tuning I was able to get the boost up to the 16-18psi range with no detonation.
Giggity , this is a salty dude now and I'm ecstatic.
I ordered another wastegate spring in order to make my base boost 14 psi. It previously just had a 7psi spring. As soon as that comes in I'll be driving and tuning it again. I know I need to figure out a way to make an in car video so I don't have an angry STF mob with torches coming after me.
I would love to get a gopro but maybe I'll just zip tie the Iphone to the roll bar
Things still left to do:
Make bracket and mount clutch switch for 3 step.
Wire 2step and 3step
Wire up Water injection relay and tune
Wire up LED to indicate 3step and datalog functions
Cut and mount rear engine tin from template
Figure out a way to fit my oil cooler fan back on the car under the package tray.
Figure out the Stepper valve tuning (currently just fully shut and butterfly open for idle)
Run it at the track!
