I have a 72 Standard bug. I want to convert it to a Baja Bug. Where is the best place to start? 1600CC Dual Port engine.

I get most of my stuff from VW Shops and Collectors... both seem to have a pile of the stuff in the corner that they can't get rid of.

Where are you located? I have a bug-eye kit that I"d let go cheap......

Hey All
Well I wanna build a daily driven baja. I am going to use my 1968 Bug which has IRS instead of Swing....still trying to find out why lol

But my questions is, where to start? Whats the first things I should do? Im not experienced at all in cutting and welding so I would have to take it to someone in order to have that sort of stuff done.

I am in the process of putting a 1915cc in the bug. Everything else on the bug is stock, except for coil overs all around which I am thinking about changing out. Good car right now, handles perfecting, no problems braking, steering, shifting, etc. Thanks for your help in advance!

Swapmeets are a good source for parts especially where you can use used parts.

I need to mount my R&P to the front beam, but the kit came with steel pieces that need welding to the beam. I would rather use a bolt on brace, but don't know where to get one. I would prefer something that can be painted and therefore don't want to pay extra for chrome or polished aluminum. Is there such a brace and where do I get one?
