OFF-Roaders Rides

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Yea Once a Marine... you know the rest. I had an eagle globe and anchor that I drew on the hood, but I kept messing it up when I painted the car , I might put it back on there someday. Ive also got cammo seat covers. Ill post more as I make some progress.

Here are both of mine. Plan was to only have one (the red one), but after my engine got stolen, I bought the blue one and it came with a spare 2110. Worked out well since now the wife has one to play with too. I still have a bit of work to do, but then again, with these things, the works never complete.

That is a nice looking rail welcome to the STF.
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

i was over at my uncles farm house in the middle of suburban chino (he stays becuase it pisses everyone off) and i saw a truck just like this in the back. i asked about it and he said my grandpa bought it years ago for moving engines and extra large parts around, it has a huge A frame built onthe front. well i asked if it runs and he said hes, i asked if he had pinks for it, he said yes. i asked if i could have it, he said yes!! so as soon as i build him a replacement A frame i can drive that baby home. 4 wheel drive dually ex army troop hauler. im not sure why but it will be a good grocery getter. i dont have a pic but it looks just like this one

Don't know why, but I'm thinking MONSTER GARAGE, maybe a VW powered Whirligig or a diesel go cart? Seriously, daily driver sounds ultra cool, I can't imagine the shock effect of pulling into the local grocery store in that thing!!! Keep the military look, don't succumb to the "stick a body on it and it's cool trend" You've almost got to paint the damn thing olive drab, unless you want to keep the farm theme going, in which case I suggest Caterpillar Yellow and John Deer green, or God help you, Kubota orange.

Penguin I missed yours! How is it coming along? Oh in CA. the DMV loves those miltitary trucks, prepare to bend over! My dad had a drill rig that became cheaper to low boy to the site than to set one tire on the highway.

haha ive said it before, my cars been to built up, i told everyone i got sponsered and that i was going to race class 5 open and no one believed the penguin, and then i had a few guys make fun of me and talk crap, so now. . . . NO! no one is seing my car untill its done 8)

and as for the military truck it would be a town car only, just something i could look into the windows of the lifted 350's with.

Here is my project that I started back in 1998, was sitting in barn for over 4 years. Most of the work done was done by 2 PO owners ago. I added new engine, 2332cc with pair of 48IDA, rear engine cage, side bars. The project was put on hold in 2000 until now. This spring/summer I am planning on a lot of work.

^^^^^ 2332 w/ IDAs? Good lord, better start shopping for an 091 trans
You need to put that engine in an oval baja and watch the purist's heads spin :D Just don't side-step the clutch.

Cool ride, and badass engine! Especially the roof scoop - I thought I was the only old schooler around these parts.
