You can probably use normal 1300 pistons with some massaging. Shape of the wristpin bosses and rod caps will determine if you need to clearance there & the skirts'll need some trimming (do it before balancing). For the same deck height, barrel spacers need to be half-the-stroke-difference thick, 3.5mm in this case. You could do it with off-the-shelf shims for $20 if you stacked them (an .090" plus a .060" should be about right).1961bluebug wrote:...Will I have to use some custom 77mm stroker short skirted pistons, will I have to make some cylinder spacers...?

I built a new motor for my 1800lbs laser917 kitcar 1641 w110 cam, stock mild ported heads, 010 dist, merged header, lighted flywheel and a 6lbs pully and 40 IDF's, full flowed 26mm pump a deep sump,I also switched to a 4:12 trans,I havent checked the mileage yet only have 49miles on it
I had the same size motor last yr,4:37 R&P,34 carb got anywhere from 25- 45 mpg depended how I drove it,It seems to run OK so far I may play with the jets
Sure has more get up & go with the IDF's
The milage motor in HVW's early 80's got like 38 mpg with the 40 idf's if i remember right
