Hey,

How's it going with the red Beetle? Is the cooling all sorted out? Be hitting any of the North East shows this Summer. I'm in the middle of a 4.1 V6 powered 356 Porsche that I'll drag along if you're gonna show up.

Good to hear from you!
Yeah, I've got the cooling under control, only I took the all aluminum engine out of my racecar and put it in the Bug ( without the blower, for now ) so I may have issues when it gets hot!
I wil probably hit Englishtown or Maplegrove if it's not too hot! Maybe I'll see you.
The Porsche sounds like a HOOT;rear engine,Right? Can you get the motor completely hidden ?

Here are a few pics of some mock-up body work and the wheels/tires that I'm trying to stuff under it. The engine will fit pretty well with the trans drop and the non-stock deck lids. The only problem is the HEI. A little big, but it's modified and works so well that I don't really wanna go to a Mallory unless I have to.

We'll be at Etown and Lebanon Valley most of this Summer, AND both CT VW shows. Maybe see you?!

I'll post more pics as the weather warms up and I can get out and work on it some more.

I'm getting too old for that much work!!
Looks like a Killer project and will be unique! I like the "Whale Tail" look. You might consider MSD. You can pick up a distributor and 6 AL for peanuts at the swap meets and get tons of clearance over the HEI.
I'll hopefully make Englishtown this year;I'll give you a heads up .
