Cast crank from SCAT

Hey Dan-
lol... don't bring shad laws into this conversation as an example... especially after he made such an ass out of himself in that clf full-circle crank debacle... and i didn't post to that thread at all!
Wow, that was uncalled for.
Ya know, there are a few people out there who have the uncanny ability of taking a factual technical discussion and turning it into a childish, immature, opinionated slam session.
I HATE slam sessions. I LOATHE flame wars. They are a waste of EVERYONE'S time.
Dan, of all the people I've met, you take the cake on having the greatest of this type of ability as seen through your posts.
I know that you are not a 15-year old immature kid who likes slamming other people. I may recommend that you stop writing posts the way you do, for it makes you look like one. You are detrimenting your own character.
Now, with respect to my character, if you look through that CLF thread, you will find that ZERO times I insult anybody. You will find that the primary party with whom I was having the discussion did not have the same figure... they insulted me as a kid would in a high school playground. Their personal e-mails to me were even worse and again, my replies had ZERO insults in them.
Do you know that every single danged time I get involved in a technical debate and it gets turned into a flame war and I subsequently leave (again, I refuse to be party to such silly acts), I have people sending me personal e-mails asking me not to leave the forum? Even on the CLF, people sent me personal e-mails asking me not to leave. Why? Because, contrary to what you may think, I'm not a jerk.
With regard to the actual full-circle vs. counterweight idea, I have NO idea why you are bringing it up in this thread. Regarding the actual debate itself, please, get real. There was ONE person in that debate with a real technical background in design and analysis, and it was me. I was the ONLY one who could concretely, exactly, and precisely explain the physics behind what was happening. Others gave their opinions why, and I tried very hard (without insults to their character or their intellect, BTW) to explain why their idea was incorrect. But, rather than try to understand what I was saying in order to: a) agree and understand why they were wrong OR b) disagree and discuss technical points they did not understand; they just went for the loud insult. A pity.
Now you are doing the same. Dan, I know that you're not some stupid-ass kid. I also know that communicating on the internet is tricky. I highly recommend that you re-evaluate your communication skills online so that your real character can be shown rather than the immature ass you appear to be.
Take care,
