Do you guys think that these heads would hold up in a fast road/trackday 2.7+Ltr type4?I'm using Alu/Nikasil barrels and Riechert cooling.

I dunno, the alu cylinders will go a long way keeping temps in check though.
Also depends how crazy you get on the autobahn and how long you keep your foot down.
With good temp sensors and knowing when to back off, you would be in control how much risk you were taking though.

Ok so 12 years later, how are these heads going on? I myself am wondering 9.5:1 CR 1911 with factory crank and rods fully balanced , I have taken 150 grams from the conrods so far and I’m looking for another 50 grams, the pistons are about 75 grams lighter that the Std factory items and so i am looking at about 275 grams lighter that OEM and then working on the crankshaft after so as to balance the whole lot using the 69mm stoke but with 96 mm pots and pistons from AA and a cam facilitating a 7500rpm redline.

Still no cooling fin area.
They should give them more thinner fins or water jackets, preferably the latter.
They used to never be in stock, with forever leadtimes for next batch.
Verify that stock is on hand before parting with any money.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

These heads do not exist any longer and haven't been available for the better part of 10 years. That design was old when it got posted here.Munga wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 9:06 pm Ok so 12 years later, how are these heads going on? I am just about to pull the trigger on a new set of these heads and I’ve tried communicating with them via email and I have had zero response living in Australia makes it a bit hard to talk to them.
So for the money you pay do we know weather you get valves, springs and rocker’s

I'd probably look for heads that are still made.

Re: SCAT'S Split Ports With New Rocker Box Design
IIRC Autocraft 910s could be had with T4 head stud pattern/bore spacing, and the new ones use Chevy rockers.
They have about the same cooling the split ports had but water jackets can happen, just run zero pressure and Evans PG coolant setup. Not a common setup for sure but they would have fewer issues and cost less. Probably.
Have never actually seen such an animal, except in photos.
