I am submitting the vr bracket drawing tomorrow. More news to come.

I have been looking at pulley to use and I like these, what are some others you guys might like?

The only pulley I would consider to use are the Berg pulleys, the generic heavy knock off, and EMPI steel one. I am even open to stamped steel.

My observation is that aluminum pulleys will eventually crack on the key way. Modifying aluminum seems like a disaster in progress, the only exception might be the DTM pulley...but the vendor is odd to deal with.

What about the aluminum pulleys with a cromo crank hub? It just doubles the price of the pulleys.

I manufacture a great many types of 36-1 & 60-2 pulleys, for good cause as I am the inventor of this item.

Most often I also use Steel, though those Porsche "guys" like to use an Aluminum center, never had either fail.

My current models for Type I's are in various diameters with sand seal/non-sand seal.

FAT uses my "target wheel" to fit to the stock Type-IV hub with my bracket.

I would consider a Type-IV Steel Pulley combo (36-1), sounds like a quality part.

Would you like my help with production ?

I'd like to see a trigger wheel made for a T4 with pancake cooling fan -

I'd think that there would be a market for an indexed 36-1 ring that would bolt to the back of the stock T4 cooling fan & then the owner could bolt the ring on their fan, make a hole in the back of the cast alloy T4 cooling shroud at the proper location & install the trigger sensor...

If anybody has a specific pulley they like please chime in. I don't want to order something that nobody is going to want.

These look nice, they are $120 but feature a steel crank hub and nice etched degree ring. CB #2020.

We are about to produce a new steel flywheel for the T4 with integral trigger pattern machined in These are being made mainly to replace all the warped and cracked
wasserboxer flywheels but once tooled up it's no big deal making some for the smaller diameter clutches 200mm etc. All depends whether you can be bothered changing a flywheel but it's possibly easier than fiddling around behind the front mounted fan assembly.

Talk to Mark De Bernardi at original Customs in Sonoma, CA. (Phone: 707-738-5686 Email: [email protected]). He makes and sells a completely bolt-in kit, 36-1 wheel w/ VR sensor and mount, for the Porsche 914 crowd that replaces the fan spacer behind the fan.

This is my set-up, but his kit is similar but completely bolt-in.

The CB sounds like good product, it has color and size choices, steel hub with holes all ready drilled. Worth exploring.

I was thinking this could be the target pulley, unlike EMPI's completely crap-tracular unusable products this one seems to be well made. However holes would need to be added unless one was to piggy back the puller ones and it is made of steel so signaling might be a tad weaker. (I brought my spare to woodburn so we could look at it)

And the nice thing about the t-4s is that they have a tapered steel hub to attach either upright or pancake pulley/fan combos. But I really like the people that are cutting that wheel in t-4 (also t-5s) flywheels, way sexier and made possible by a standard 5-bolt & keyed crankshaft.
