kinda sorta on tarp.... when my vw is outside overnite and it looks like it might rain i use a small 6' x 6' blue tarp and just tuck it around the engine and down behind the engine shroud. maybe a bungee or two on the bottom side for long periods of time ..... i also put one over my seats 'cause i only have a front windshield.

Well I'll be living near school during the summer, we found an apartment, lease is June to June. So it would be SO GOOD if my car is running and registered and insured by May, cause then I could make the commute to work (going to do my campus job over the summer, fulltime). And then in June, I could drive home to hang with people there. Just about an hour. But if my car doesn't run by May, I'm not going to be able to work. Granted, that would give me more time to work on Franz, but no income. Hooray for savings bonds? Don't want to use them for my car.
So my point is, there won't be much time in the summer to work on the car. The apartment is within walking distance of the job, but I would like to be able to work in May.
Also at home and at school, car won't have any coverage besides a tarp. There is a garage at home, but two other cars need driveway/street space, so once it does run, the garage wouldn't be practical. Also, too much in the garage for a car/it would hardly fit anyway. We backed it in halfway once, and didn't have much elbow room. Basically, I need a second garage.
Sorry, brain is on the fritz, can't really organize my thoughts more than that.

hey leather, lets not scare off our only lady regular!
anyways, once im done getting my dang-tootin rail titled and registered I am going to kick some metalworking butt to get that thing a bit more ship shape. I figure a weeks hard work would make it road worthy, 3 weeks of fiberglassing/metal work and paint to get it respectable, and a few years of love to have something to be proud of.
then one poorly placed tree to take care of steps 1 thru 4.
about covering the motor, that still true if it has a metal topped air filter and no stinger? I think we have a lovely chrome hat sitting in a box somewhere that would keep rain water out, and the exhaust is one of those baja mufflers that let you keep semi-streetlegality and your heater boxes.

give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Send me an email, jerkface! I'm home next week (as in less than a week from now), so we should get some work done, but I need you to go over that list!fusername wrote:hey leather, lets not scare off our only lady regular!![]()

Here's a reminder for why you should email me stuff: you told me a couple things for my parts list last night, and I have no idea what you said because I came back to my computer after Duk's radio show and shut it off!fusername wrote:shamed in public! i wont be able to show my face around these here parts anytime soon.
I love this kid dearly, but I would be calling him something other than jerkface if I knew it wouldn't be censored.

This'll be interesting to say the least... I ordered fiberglass mat and resin, should arrive beginning of next week, which means *maybe* we can start patching things up next week. Like I said...interesting. We have no idea what we're doing.
Also Baja Bugs & Buggies arrived at my school mailbox before I left, so I am reading that whilst at work and looking forward to getting my car to at least be a running one-seater. My boyfriend is coming come with me, maybe he will have some ideas on how to configure an engine cage.
Updates soon!

I thought Fuser was your...oh nevermind...
Engine cage-
Do you know what kind? Firewall or shock mount?
It is fairly simple if you have all the parts.
