Then what are you using for ignition since you pulled the distributor and the drive gear?

I'm using a 36-1 trigger-wheel, VR sensor and an IGN4 in wasted-spark configuration.

Interesting zoomed-out mlv screen-shot. This shows my 32 minute commute home yesterday.
Covers a altitude change from 6000'-7500'. You can clearly see the change in Baro correction.
CLT is basically head-temp.

Changed out the plugs tonight. It was clearly time. These are NGK D6EAs after a few 12 month years of daily driving.

So I got a dumb question. The new plugs did not come with these ... whatever they're called. The MSD wires I'm using need them and I'm building a new engine that may as well.
I can't remember where I got them.
And what the heck are they called?

Re: T3 megasquirt II conversion
I have been running the same set of iridium plugs since I got my MS run 1.8L started... ages ago and pushing 60K, now.
I pulled them out a few times but they show ~zero wear, and it runs as well (better, with learning how to tune it + eventually going MS3/3X) as the day they were installed.
It's actually been a year+ since I looked at them, almost afraid to pull them out, not sure if I used the Milk Of Magnesia on the threads last time... Engine still pulls 19:1 AFR all day long at cruise.
Worth the extra ~$3 each IMHO.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: T3 megasquirt II conversion
Hi Max,
a few questions on your original triggering method.
You were using 009 with locked advance or was it off the coil? was that enough to tell ms to control injectors or was there something else?
Can we use l-jet injectors with stock intake and hardware to avoid having to build fuel rails and utilize better still available connectors?
Thanks,
Anton

Re: T3 megasquirt II conversion
Originally I was using a stock type-3 distributor and using the - coil for the tach signal. I was just controlling fuel with MS at that time.
Now I'm using a 36-1 trigger-wheel on the fan, VR sensor and an IGN4 in wasted-spark configuration. Go back to page 23 for pictures.
As far as the injectors, I suppose you could use OG style injectors. But making fuel rails was dead simple so why not use modern injectors.

Re: T3 megasquirt II conversion
Thanks!
I was mentioning l-jet as those would seem to be plug and play with respect to existing hardware but with way better, locking connector. I see folks mention those injectors as an upgrade for bigger t3 engines as they flow a bit more.
I am trying to thing of a setup that would be as much of a drop in as possible and maybe even look stock.

Re: T3 megasquirt II conversion
Resistor plugs and good leads are recommended as unsuppressed HT spikes can affect any ecu but lots of people get away without them.
I run resistor plugs and Magnecor leads to be on the safe side.
