Searoy, what if that was done? would it make any difference to reverse my thinking? Have the turbo feed the super? ...Just a thought. Now I'm looking more toward a 911 engine for my bug and building a straight turbo motor for big weekend power. I have a post in the GL forum about the 911 engine. Anyone here know anything about fitting one in a beetle?

Not trying to sound like a jerk but...A measuring tape will tell you everything you need to know...Good luck (and good budget, you'll need lots of both

Which one puts out more pressure?
John,
I know it won't fit, as it is four inches longer than the VW engine, but my car all pieces, and the engine is no longer one of those. I can't tell how much that would interfere. I need to go look at someone's bug and see how much distance there is from the crank pulley to the apron.

This WILL involve a good bit of metal surgery. Now a Type III on the other hand...
Can you say "ultimate street sleeper"?

Yeah, but type 3s are ugly
How much "surgery" would that entail? Would it be the crank pulley alone that interferes?

I can verify that a 911 motor fits in a T3 very well ....like it was designed to go in I'm surprised that folks still want to fit them into Bugs.
The amount of surgery a bug needs to fit a 911 motor in WILL make it look far more ugly than a T3.
