if you really want to go for carb, just convert the 13b, keep hold of the injection system just in case you change you mind!

you cab buy manifolds for the job, try asking around on the rotary forums!

hehe sounds like you have fun in your v8's.

but i say

theres no compensation for cubic capacity like the reduction of weight.

im sure im wrong. but its wat i like to think

you'll have lots of fun in a vw that can beat the local ricer boys.

just my opinion.

you could go for the 12a carby fed rotary.

woudlnt be too much power for you but would give u some fun times in it. just dont expect any of those 11.7 passes

11.7 wasn't what I was looking for anyway. Just want something pretty fun, fairly fast, but drivable. Well you can stick to your light weight saying, but I'll keep my saying. Theres no replacement for displacement

My favorite. I'll look into converting the 13 into a carb. I hadn't thought about that before. I figured they were to sensitive to change that induction system that much. Guess I was wrong. Have any websites that could help me with that? Thanks for the help on my project!

Yup the only thing that kills more HP is less weight. Less wiehgt means less wear on almost every part brakes, suspension, engine, tranny, tires, steering, and the driver. Hopefully youll stick with the VW just for the fact that it will test your brain more then building another V8 muscle car. It seems like you take pride in building a great engine so I say build a Turbo type 4 engine to make power. It will be more interesting then almost eny v8 buildup and I bet youll scare yourself more in a little bug then a iron beast. Oh and dont get me wrong I love American Iron (AMC lover) , but it almost seems like a waste to put yourself back when you were 25 with carbs and v8's. Expand out and embrace the weird little german cars and the mystical fuel injection. You will never regret trying something new.

I agree on expanding horizons. I've worked with boxer engines before so building one isn't anything new. However, building a rotary engine is completely new. Never delt with them, so what better way to expand my horizons then tackle and completely new engine design? I'd like to build a boxer engine again however. Maybe sometime down the road. And I wouldn't doubt it that I could build something faster then my Nova with a turbo type 4 but thats not what I'm looking for out of this project. Becides, if it came down to it, I can always throw a few more things onto the old Nova. Always room for improvement.

Basically, I could strip it down to nothing, (it has full interior and nothing cut of the body) and slap a a super charger down. Be cheaper then building a VW into that. Wonder what I time could lay down if I did that.... lol.
