I was thinking of running these on a 2270 I have planned, but don’t have the space in my early car. https://vwspeedshop.com/product.php?productid=16821

Or if you’re on Instagram look up Jason Eggum. I believe he works for old speed, he could build you an intake set up

OT

Do modern injectors fit in type3 EFI manifolds or do they need modifications? (Fuel rail required obviously but is the injector bore 14mm).

Thx

First gen Ford Focus injectors fit if you remove the pintle cap.

The original proper fit for 'modern' injectors is a little less then 14.0mm iirc, its 13.9mm I remember once measuring, but all stock type 3 or type 4 manifolds are much smaller. The fit of the O-rings you see in the pic from Max is where the O-ring sits on the tapered part. That works for N/A engines if your fuel rail pushes the injector hard enough in the curved recess of the stock manifold injector bore. If it also still works with boost depends on your boost level and how well your fuel rail is mounted I guess.
But to recap: no, the opening in stock type 3 mani's is NOT the same as modern injector holes. You can get by that however, as the factory did it the same way :-)

The vanagon/"T3" manifold and center plenum will literally bolt on a type 3 DP setup.(pancake t1 motor)
Port match will be way off...
The stock vanagon manifold end castings are steel or iron, so you have several choices how to reshape the transition for port match.
I have a setup if you wnt pics of how the plenum sits on the case. It should clear.
I may even have enough t1 parts to put together a mockup t3, although the t3 cooling system and HX went to a new home...
86+ wasserboxers were 2110s with ~web86 valve timing and dual springs, the high compression Euro DJs were rated at 112HP.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
