I love to think outside of the box in everything i build but let me tell you I LIKE YOUR IDEA !! anything that brings the cool factor and a real plus if it works good , i dont see why it shouldnt , directing air to each cylinder instead of the favoring of a porsche set up yeah !!!! very nice and cool ...

Your way to do it is really cool. I love it.
but do U have any more info about this 1 or 2 turbo thread? I used to think the same still I thaught that pressure whats inside the exhaust doesn't let the gaschange do as well as the exhaust manifolds are not connected.....but maybe Im wrong.

@Raul: I really like your setup: very clean
@Joosep: I don't have the data from Porsche at my disposal, but I do know that two cilinders coupled to 1 turbo can cause alot of problems due to the exhaust gas pulsations (I've been a turbo testengineer for 5.5 years and have seen what can happen due to pulsations
)
Furthermore the VW boxer engine is not ideal for a twin turbo setup. If you want to set this up properly, you would need to connect cilinder 1 and 3 to one turbo and 2 and 4 to the other turbo (which results in long runners and loss of thermic energy).
All in all a single turbo setup for the 4 cilinder VW boxer engine is the best compromise IMHO.

Finally did some welding for the exhaust. After alot of grinding, fitting, welding and cursing, it finally started taking shape. Still need to finish the WG outlet and make a bracket for the muffler.
Not really alot of room to work with
WG channel has been optimised for flow (angle and port-work done to the header)
Just enough clearance between the tire and the body.
Now I need a beer

How about a DIY kit sell the fabbed ends and buyer can do the tube and glass work. I WANT ONE !!!
What are you doing as far as the oil cooler ?

Hey Turbo Farviknugn,
Before I even want to think about making these shrouds commercially available, I first want to make sure the concept works and is optimised. I would hate to bring a non-working product on the market
As soon as I've tested everything and ironed out all the bugs, I will try to find a way to simplify the production process and maybe outsource the production.
In the meantime I have been test fitting everything to make sure it still fits: it's tight, but it should work:

Although I have a good feeling about this cooling system, I still need to test it. Aerodynamics can be very complicated and I'm definitely no expert in that area
In a few weeks I'll have alot more time to work on it, and hopefully get it running. I'll be logging the cilinder and head temperatures of all cilinders, so it should be easy enough to see what it does.
At the moment I'm still waiting on some parts and messing about with the oil cooler and hoses. I will be placing the oilcooler on the right side of the transmission between the drysump pump (return) and the drysump tank. Probably will be using a thermostat as well. As soon as there is something picture-worthy, I'll post it here
