Quite a bit of progress on the bus lately... Ordered a set of entry level turbo heads from DRDracing after the old stock heads that had been rode hard and put up wet spit a spark plug (and another plug you could wiggle by hand). That was the nudge I needed to upgrade to some big valve heads. 40 x 37.5 valves, dual valve springs with a mild fluff and buff on the intakes. I have to say these are probably the nicest heads I've seen right out of the box. When the bug needs some new heads I'll definitely go back to DRD for some of his higher end heads. With the new heads it immediately built 12psi before I let off

So that was a good sign to finally solve my dilemma with only being able to build 8psi. Problem is I still can't really build much more without detonation. So a water/air intercooler was in order. Got the parts in and started installing it last night and finished it up tonight. Still have a little cleaning up to do and need to test it out tomorrow. Can't wait to see what kind of difference it makes...........

Thanks for the kind words. It's just a standard 96 plate oil cooler that a lot of people sell http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp ... C13%2D9293

Easy now. The proof is in the pudding  Get to work and lets see some progress!! What kind of hp does that stock k20 put out? I'll see you at some shows soon enough and we'll have to do some cruisin.

I got the k20 with the "economy" vtec, it only makes 160hp/161tq. The performance k20 makes 197hp/139tq, that might be fun in the notch ;)

I am on schedule for driving it to the TX classic.

What a great read Zander..... This is exactly what I'm about to do with my Bus.... I bought a complete EFI setup off Mario a couple of years ago, then got side tracked by my turbo bug..... But now the time has come to start on the bus.... Was thinking along the exact same lines as you and fitting the turbo (T28) there.... My reasoning is the fact that my bus is low and I can't fit a deep sump..... Plan to have the oil drain back to the 1-2 rocker cover..... So close now to start.... Just need to source a BOV and couple of flanges, then it's time to go.

Thank you so much for posting this build thread.... I'll be watching!
