So you have 10mm primary studs, and 8mm secondary studs. Correct? And you torqued them all to 50 ft-lbs?

I have a six studded T4 I'm putting together. It uses 8mm studs. I'm going to torque them to the stock type 4 torque specifications. The extra studs mount in a plate this fits onto the cylinder bases.

I've been collecting parts for 11 years for this build...

No -- My 6 primary bolts at 1/2" with 1/8" thick washers and 3/4" nuts and the secondaries are 8mm --- that is why I can go to the higher torque levels -- the 8mm are at 14 lbs

That setup you have is cool with 6 studs per cylinder -- -- I think the guys at 4 inch bore are using that setup with their 3 liter engines

Seeing all the cars over the weekend got me motived. OK, it was for only 15-20 minutes, but boy was I motivated

Installed my NEW pushrod tubes. Nice pieces

Was going a final valve train check and I've kept looking at my push rods and how much the adjusters are out on rocker arms, (new cam has a slightly smaller base circle on it) and with them out that far it takes the PR's real close to the head. So called Mr. Guru himself, Scott Fetherolf, and asked him what he has in his killer engine and he directed me to Aircooled.net for a set of their super whammy dual tapper Aluminum push rods. Ordered a set of 11.5" and then called Mr Don Pauter himself and ordered 4 new adjusters to replace some that had gotten dinged up. The Parts are coming and should be here by Friday

Aircooled.net FTW with those tapered pushrods. Did you buy them cut to length?

Hi Fiatdude,

We both have the same front bumper, and an effective airdam can be attached to it. Also, the RSR-type ducktail is easy to make.

That front air damn looks cool --- can you share more pictures of how it is attached and the material used

Thanks Harold

Man, I've been a sick puppy this past week --- without going into a lot of details, lets just say I lost 20 pounds in two days, and 3 days after .. .. my ribs still hurt too much to laugh/cough/sneeze......

BUT the engine is done and I've cleaned up the garage (folded up my engine assembly area into it's corner) and I'm ready to move the Ghia into the disassembly area..... (This is normally a 2 hour job but recovering from my goo, it has taken me two days)

Got the tape measure out and the 2919 measures just under 34 inches across without any intakes or exhaust .... and the engine bay of the ghia is at 28 inches --- --- something is gonna have to give here ...... Might get the neighbors to help me push the ghia off the trailer and into the garage tomorrow, so I can start tearing (cutting) into the project -- time is getting real tight.
