Sorry I haven't added the pics yet but I have bad news.... There was some bad knocking last night. so tonight I'm takeing it apart. I noticed that I had mabe 3psi oil presure at idl and i was babying it home it started to make that dredful sound. I shut it off and had my wife bring the truck and tow bar. but I keeping a positive outlook. I build this motor about 5 years ago on a tight budget. Reused a 110 cam that I have laying around, stock heads cut for 94's as well as a single 44 weber. Very low budget to say the least. Before the knocking it had CB 044 heads nice T3/T4 turbo and dual 45 Dellorot's. By the way that 110 cam is from a motor that I learned to drive with 20 years ago. It's ready for a change. I'm hopeing to keep this complete rebuild under $500. We shall see how I do. My plan is to put a good cam and have everything balanced this go around. The good news is I will post pics today. Wish me luck on the tear down.

Ok so the motor is all torn down and it is the rod bearings for sure. I will have all the journals polished and the entire rotatings assembly balanced. I will take it to my local shop to get everything checked out. My plan this go around is to have the compression around 7.5 to 1. The goal is to have it all back together by Christmas. I will keep posting the updates.

It's a very hard working baja this last year I took 2nd place in the offroad catigory at the Phoenix bug o Rama. The best part about it is that it was covered with about 2-3" of mud and you couldn't see any of the body just mud and tires. I will post the pics tomorrow.

My case needs a line bore and it can't be done any more. Does anyone know where I can get a bubble top HD aluminum on the cheap? I really don't want to and can't afford the $750 for one. Does anyone have a case thats used that might needs a little cleaning up or needs a little machine work? If not is there a website that has them cheaper that some on knows about?

Update: I found a case in Vegas. I haven't seen it yet but I found it on craigslist. I had my dad who lives in Vegas go and check it out. I is an auto linea case. Bubble top filled behind number 3 full flowed, clearanced and cut for 94's. It is used, but the best part is that I paid 650 for the case, empi h beam rods and a complete msd setup and 2 complete bearings sets. What a score!!!! So we are going home to Vegas for Christmas and I will bring everything back and start the build when I get back. The msd setup is a 6al box, msd dist and coil. I will be useing it on my car for sure unless you guys say other wise. What are your thoughts?

You'll get some nay sayers on the MSD stuff, but I run it and it produces an evil spark and has been uber reliable.
You can run a 1/2" spark plug gap if you want.
Good score on the case, hope it checks out for ya. Check my engine build thread for some tips on how to make the Alum case work better.

The MSD stuff is a very good score IMO.... And you could fit a BTM module to control the spark retardation under boost....

I'm picking up everything over Christmas and can't wait to get it installed. So my original plan of a rebuild for under $400 is long gone out the window. But I am upgrading my cam, case and ignition through out the whole process. I have to do a few more side jobs before I tell my with how much I will have total into this.... umm....... Process yeah that sounds good.

Here's the latest: Got the new case and have decided to go big or go home. I just ordered a 84mm stroker crank to go with the H beam chevy journal rods I got. So my $400 budget went way out the door. I had my crank checked the rod journals need to be turned and one of my rods also needs to be fixed as well. I thinking that I will sell the crank and rods used to help recoup the cost of the upgrade. I'm looking at the eagle 2242 cam that cb sells with my 1.25 rockers, whAt do you guys think? I want a cam that will give me great lowend power and have an even power curve all the way up the curve under boost. I'm open for any suggestions would be great.

I did some more research along as well as my buddy talked to pat downs at cb and decided to go with the eagle 2234 cam. Everything was dropped off yesterday to be balanced. I should start assembly on Monday or Tuesday of new week.
