After a few initial issues, my setup is working well. The little M6 bolts holding the flange to the head backed out after a few hours of operation. Lock-washers cured that.

The pipe does eventually get hot, but not so hot as to cause issues with the hose.

Inside with the door closed it is now acceptably quiet. Not library-quiet mind you, but it is interesting to only be hearing the mechanical noises that the engine and the air-pump make. It sounds more like a big sewing machine.

And of course I'm no longer gassing myself. :wink:

can't you just put a flange on the far end of the pipe and bolt that old muffler back on?

also, that tire muffler is AWESOME. yankee engineering ftw

Done. Quieter that the Old Tire Muffler.

And yes, the Old Doghouse cover helps too!
