but that is not why my name is runslikeapenguin, i do infact run linux in case no one noticed
I always assumed your handle was refering to VW motors? I thought you liked to drive w/ plugged idle jets or something?
*member of SandRail IS running club *member of Baja is NOT running club
I started racing dirt bikes when I was four and earned my nickname the hard way. I guess that is what happens when you ride/drive ten feet over your head all the time.
I work for the AF as a loader too, civilian side flight test! Beware the orange wire menace........

rico, great meeting you yesterday. I hope I didn't come off rude dropping out of the sky like that. How did the El Mirage trip go?
I saw a certain black Baja at a gas station here in Rosamond, Ca yesterday and I recognized it as ricosuave1987's ride, so I took the opportunity to introduce myself.
So you think your project is taking forever eh? Well you've got nothing on me.....
Oldbugss, thanks for posting in the off-road forum, started with off-road did ya, great. Time to get back into it. What do you want to build Baja or rail. Dunes, desert, mud or woods. Let us know where you want to start and we are with ya. Don't be such a stranger.
Well to be serious, I am into "odd" off-road. While a Bug with long travel would work, I would prefer a squareback or even a splittie bus. Yeah, gotta understand the center of gravity for a box like a bus but...
I really like the commandeur type looking full fendered Beetle for the mud and woods action. This has stuck in my mind for some time.
Luckily I have MNAIRHEAD (Tim) near to help me out in the re-introductions to the soil and sand.
