I know this was a question for Marty...I just wanted to throw in something I have been doing for a while.
I cut the chamber hemispherical and then cut the piston to match the radius of the chamber. So it has the unobstructed flow of a hemi chamber...but with a really good quench area...which was missing before. I am happy with the results of this so far.

My motors are usually so large that I would not be able to get the compression where I want it that way. They are either flat top or dished.

The piston I use is a segmented flat top.

awesome, fair do's nice bit of kit, have the heads needed to have much done porting wise, or they flow well pretty much out of the box?

I am just in from the Winternationals. What a great day!

The 910 heads flow fairly well out of the box on the intake side but not the exhaust. These heads have quite a bit of work done on the intake and extensive work done on the exhaust side.

Ok - I load the pistons into the cylinders and then install them together.

So now I start fabrication of the intake and exhaust.
The car layout dictates how I configure the system and where I can locate various parts such as the turbo, carb etc. I have my own "style" and every car is different, so if they cannot bring me the car, I have them take a BUNCH of pictures and measurements and send them to me.

I get my flanges from various places.
These intake flanges for the 910 heads come directly from Autocraft and are what I start with for my plenum intake manifolds.

Image

I then use 45 degree mandrel bends and tack them in place to the flanges (header fab is also starting s seen in picture) -

The header fab also is done at the same time. Everything must fit together so it is critical that clearances etc are all taken into account.
