Central WA Baja

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Honda's will flat out get up and haul ass but when your pushing her at those speeds and RPM's 2 things are going to happen.... either your going to keep blowing motors or your going to install a 5 speed! I have had you chase me all over the desert in the dead of summer and winter but i never let us run so long to hurt the motors. So guess what it's time for you to graduate to the MD-25 :D :D :D :D
5 SPEED BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly I am probably going to regear for about 115-120 so that it will to 100 with some room

If the Honda will not live at 6000 RPM then a tuned LS will

And we will see how she handles Osborne wash in a couple weeks. Not sure we will hit those kind of speeds but I will for sure have 1 eye on the temp gauge this time.

Worst part about this engine failure is it actually happened in 5 minutes of running which is why I think something had to be different from when we have played together. Because although we have not done dry lakes together we have done some sustained speed for a lot longer then this pull was.

No BS it's the only part on my car that I could sell for what I paid for it. Because I bought one of the first ones and the price has gone up substantially used one sell all the time for what I paid new.

It looks like many of us are in a state of rebuild one way or the other...

Coolest pics I took all week were from the passenger seat while the wife wheeled The Queen

So this finally happened. Put The Queen on the scales. Packed full of fuel, spare tire and toolbox.

Taking guesses from those that I have not shared the readout with.

Bonus question how close to my goal if a 60/40 split did I get? (60 rear)

You're High!! You don't win squat....

Wow that sounded bad. Your guess is to high. If this was "The Price is Right" Bob Barker would have simply laughed at you and moved on to the cute blonde next to you.
