I built a complete new bed adding 2" to the height out of Birch.... I used the original as a template and made it 2" taller... I also raised the rear deck to match the engine lid... so all is well...

Great thread man!
I had an S-10 with the 2.8 motor, the bearings went on it. When I got it rebuilt there was concern that, if the crank was shot, it would be hard to find a replacement as those engines were prone to crank failure. Good that you went with the 3.4 after all.

Well, Sad to say ...... Clyde has a new home now ..... He is in Utah.... Sold him to a nice couple that have already had a trip in him to California... They have sent me a couple pics of him in the Napa Valley and from Utah... He looks happy...

Hope to see some posts on here on how he's doing....

Wow great read.Loved it! Learned tons .The radiator post was valuable info.Thanks! Sad to see you sold Clyde. Why so? Made me look into GM conversions a little more. Crate motor with warranty is a good deal. I am going to do my first Subaru 2.5/5 speed LSD Subarugears conversion in 2014..
