I have sold out of the IDF setups and have a handful of the Dellorto DRLA setups left. I'm about a month away from making these in house. I have my CNC lathe and...... HOPEFULLY...my cnc mill next week.

I really want to thank all who have tried the system. I really didn't expect them to go so quickly :D

Hopefully, once things start rolling, I'll build up my IDF store as well as the DRLA stuff...... With the new machines, i'll be able to do something for the other carbs/tb's out there. Like RonW's jenvey's :D

I also have plans to make the system work on other cars, such as the 914, early 911's, 356's and 550 spyders....hey.. maybe even for corvairs :D

more to come...

and my Jenveys hopefully

Last 1/8 mile drag race the lever of the original Jenvey supplied slided off the tb-shaft and costed me two messed up runs, one of them being a final... and she just doesn't run that well on 2 cylinders...
The 1.5mm allen screw just cannot be turned in strong enough to keep the arm from sliding off in my case. VERY annoying...
I was THIS close to welding the arm to the shaft! :x

So I'am more then ever anxious to use something better, but pls pay attention to keeping the D-hole fixated to the shaft Pete

Wally, Thanks to RonW, i was able to have a close up look at the Jenvey "D" hole shaft. I don't know why they went that route, but, i'm certain that there is a solution :D

And two sets for my Jenveyed vehicles, just to chime in :)

One for a Chesil Speedster (shortened beetle), the other a 1964 splitscreen camper which I am in the process of converting to Type IV; don't have any other linkage solution for the camper so keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm looking for a set for Empi HPX carbs. Do you have anything made for those, or anything that's somewhat universal?

I've had the SyncLink system on my 40DRLAs for 3.5 months, and about 2300 miles now, and STILL haven't touched the adjustments, except for once back in the beginning of February after the cables settled in a bit.

It's made the greatest driveability improvement I've experienced on my car.

Finally got mine installed!
First point: Customer service is fantastic - a cable end got away from me and frayed significantly due to a set of side cutters with a nick in 'em and Pete sent one out no questions asked and free of charge (or I should say he is resisting me offering payment).
Second point: Dead simple install and dead simple adjustment. I've spent 2-3 hours on the hex bar linkage getting a compromise between cold tune and hot tune as the engine expands and changes the hex bar geometry. This took me about 10 minutes to get the adjustments set up. I expect to do it one more time as the cables stretch after a few hundred miles.

My only minor issue is a weak throttle return arrangement. I have throttle shaft springs and they aren't quite enough to close the throttles. I have a helper spring on the wheel to the air filter base plate but to say its ugly is being too kind. I know Pete is a DRLA man but I'm stuck with IDF's. Any IDF users out there have a recommendation on the throttle springs? Another turn or two on the existing shaft springs? Or are there stronger springs out there?

On my original hacked up pulley setup I did have to run the usual return springs on the original Weber linkage in addition to the on-shaft springs., as the factory carbs shaft springs simply weren't enough.

It's probably possible to put the arm and additional spring "out back" where they aren't an eyesore.
IIRC I couldn't get another turn out of the original Weber return springs.

I placed my return spring at the pedal. drilled a small hole in the tunnel, and my pedal assembly had an additional hole in the arm already. Bought about 10 springs and tested them out. Found the right one and its peacy. Not too stiff, not too soft. Works wonders.

I just read about a guy selling this setup on the 914club and theSamba, claiming it is his design.
Anyone ever heard of Chris Foley? Tangerine Racing? THAT SUCKS for you slowtwitch.

Do you have a patent? Not they they are worth the paper they are printed on if you
don't have the cabbage to hire a bunch of lawyers, but....
