CopperBaja's Baja

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Not busting on the seats at all as they look nice. But what is the benefits of going with suspension seats vice regular automotive seats?

Suspension seats are better for offroad...bigger bolsters to keep your butt planted. Automotive seats have quite a bit more cushion and shock absorption.

It made a huge difference in this baja, with worn out shocks and bushings.

Car seats let you sink deeper when you hit a bump (I ran '89 Camero buckets when I had seat belts. Comfortable but not that great for what I was doing) but if you have a harness, your shoulders get loose than back in tight when bouncing around. I thought the suspension seats would be the same way but after riding in Clonebug's turbo buggy, they are both comfortable and support you nicely so you aren't loose in your harness when bouncing around.

Good suspension seats (Beard, Mastercraft, PRP, etc.) will do both, but for the daily driver I would run car seats.

Mine has the Nissan 350Z seats....other than the sub-belt, you stay pretty planted and since they're out of a sports car, the bolsters are nice and padded. The big benefit over auto seats is the sub-belt.

What did you pull your seats out of?
For dual purpose/dual sport cars the non adjustable nature of the suspension seats sucks. You can't recline, you can't flip, you can't tilt, etc.

The seats are from a Honda Civic, we were told. I'm not sure what year. They were pretty clean, comfortable, and the price was right for my neighbor's budget.

Getting into the backseat....that's why I went with Auto seats over suspension seats.

I always thought that "someday" I could afford the Mastercraft reclining suspension seats. $575.50. Each.

Bit late at putting up a video, but I've had questions on the forum as to how quiet it is inside the car....ignore the crappy narration.

It almost seems like you're trying to sell the car.

Is it ready to go? Desert season is almost here. I just changed to oil on my mine and most of the bolts are still on. I'm ready!

It's up for perpetual sale.
Lots going on right now, including attending SDSU, so time may not be there for me to make many desert trips.

I fit in DB trips during my lower division days (too far away during my upper div. days). Though that might explain my GPA....

Oh...I need homework help, that's for sure...need to find a tutor. About 100 in the class and there's not much detailed explanation.
